About this template

Baby Shower Bingo is the dependable warm-up game that gets guests talking and laughing without anyone having to play 'guess the baby food'. Each guest gets a card filled with shower tropes — the gift everyone gives, the relative who shares unsolicited advice, the moment the parents-to-be open something miniature.

It works because every baby shower has the same shape: greetings, gift opening, snacks, the inevitable belly comment. Bingo cards turn those predictable beats into a shared game without requiring anyone to participate in something they find awkward.

When to use it

  • Traditional baby showers, in-person or over video call.
  • Co-ed 'baby sprinkles' for second or third babies, where the format is more casual.
  • Long-distance family showers where guests join from multiple time zones.
  • Office baby showers — a 3×3 quick version keeps things light during a lunch hour.

Hosting tips

  • Print cards onto card-stock and hand them out with the welcome drinks. Bring a few spares for late arrivals.
  • Keep prizes small and shower-appropriate: a candle, a small bath product, a chocolate bar. Avoid anything baby-related (nobody wants a stranger picking their nursery decor).
  • Mix predictable squares with surprising ones. Cards full of obvious squares get filled too fast and the game ends before the gift-opening starts.
  • For virtual showers, share the play link in the chat and let guests mark squares on their phones while the camera stays on the parent-to-be.

Variations

  • Gift-opening bingo — squares are types of gifts (onesie, blanket, baby book, monitor, toy). Drops the small-talk noise.
  • Advice bingo — squares are pieces of unsolicited parenting advice. Risky but funny if your family has a sense of humour.
  • Nesting bingo — for a parents-only event, squares are pregnancy symptoms and nesting behaviours.

Questions people ask

Is this game gendered?

No — the squares can be tailored to any family setup. Skip any phrasing that assumes a single mother, two-parent household, or specific gender, and the game works for everyone.

How long does it take to play?

Baby Shower Bingo runs in the background of the whole event. Expect the first winner around the time gift-opening starts; play a second round (blackout) for the rest of the afternoon if guests want to keep going.

Can we play virtually?

Yes. Share the BingoStamp link in your video-call chat; everyone marks on their own device. Caller Mode works well if a friend wants to host and call squares aloud.
