About this template

Conference Call Bingo is the audio-only cousin of Meeting Bingo — tuned for the chaos of dial-in lines, dropped connections, and the inevitable five minutes of 'can everyone hear me?' before any actual work happens. It catches the specific failure modes of voice calls: mute-button confusion, echo loops, the late-joiner double-up that derails the agenda.

It works for sales calls, vendor syncs, cross-time-zone team meetings, and any other situation where you're staring at a phone or a Zoom audio tile instead of a face. The more participants and the worse the connection, the better the game.

When to use it

  • Audio-only team calls with five or more participants.
  • Cross-time-zone vendor or partner syncs where call quality varies.
  • Conference bridges that recurring meetings join from many devices.
  • Sales or support calls where you're often on hold.

Hosting tips

  • Pre-game the card before the meeting starts so you can focus on the conversation once it begins.
  • Make squares specific to your team's habits — the person who always forgets to mute, the manager whose dog barks every Thursday at 3pm.
  • Keep marking subtle. Audio meetings are easy to half-attend; resist the urge to check off squares while you should be contributing.

Questions people ask

How is this different from Meeting Bingo?

Meeting Bingo focuses on language and corporate clichés. Conference Call Bingo focuses on logistics and audio chaos — the things that happen because nobody can see each other's faces.

What grid size should I use?

A 5×5 is the classic choice — long enough that a single call rarely fills the whole card, short enough that a regular weekly sync can build toward a win over a month.
